Who we are

This website is operated by CollectionsCorp — The Trustee for Collectionscorp (ABN 24 540 014 243), trading as CollectionsCorp (“CollectionsCorp”, “we”, “us”, “our”). We are an Australian receivables management and debt recovery business operating from Liverpool NSW 2170, Australia.

Our full business and contact details are set out in section 16 of these terms and in the footer of every page on this website.

Services we provide

CollectionsCorp supplies professional services only. We do not sell, dispatch or deliver any physical goods. The services we provide are:

  • Consumer and commercial debt recovery — contact, negotiation, payment arrangements and recovery of outstanding accounts on behalf of creditor clients.
  • Insurance and motor-accident recoveries — third-party recovery of credit hire, repair and related losses.
  • Mercantile and legal recovery services — letters of demand, solicitor-led escalation and enforcement, where instructed.
  • Debt purchase and portfolio acquisition — purchase of consumer and commercial receivables portfolios.
  • White-label and outsourced collections — recovery activity conducted under a client’s own brand.
  • Skip tracing and locate services — standard, enhanced and full tracing tiers for permitted purposes.
  • Customer payment services — payment plans, direct debit administration and card, PayID and BPAY payment processing on accounts we manage.
  • Hardship assessment and support — assessment of financial hardship applications and referral to free financial counselling.

A full description of each service is available on our Solutions and Debt purchase pages.

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing this website, making a payment to us, or engaging us to provide services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or our services.

These terms apply to website visitors, to customers who have an account being managed by CollectionsCorp, and to creditor clients, in each case to the extent relevant. Where a separate signed services agreement exists between CollectionsCorp and a client, that agreement prevails to the extent of any inconsistency.

Use of this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not:

  • use the website in a way that breaches any applicable law or regulation;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website, our systems or our customer portal;
  • introduce malicious code, or interfere with the availability or integrity of the website;
  • copy, reproduce or republish website content other than as permitted in section 12; or
  • submit information through our forms that is false, misleading or that you are not authorised to provide.

We may suspend or withdraw access to this website at any time without notice.

Client engagements

Where CollectionsCorp is engaged by a creditor client, the commercial terms — including commission rates, contingency fees, tracing fees, legal disbursements and any minimum charges — are set out in the individual services agreement or fee schedule executed with that client. Nothing on this website constitutes a fixed price offer.

Clients warrant that each account referred to us is legally owed, is accurate, is not statute-barred, and that the client is entitled to refer it for collection. Clients must promptly notify us of any payment received directly, any dispute, any insolvency event, and any hardship or vulnerability information relevant to the account.

We may decline or return any account at our discretion, including where the account is disputed, where the customer is in demonstrable hardship, or where continued recovery activity would be inconsistent with our compliance obligations.

Payments and payment methods

Payments on accounts managed by CollectionsCorp may be made by credit or debit card, direct debit, PayID, BPAY or electronic funds transfer, using the payment options provided on your account or through our customer portal.

  • All amounts are in Australian dollars (AUD) and, where GST applies, are inclusive of GST.
  • Card payments are processed by our accredited third-party payment provider. CollectionsCorp does not store full card numbers on its own systems.
  • Payments are applied to the account balance in accordance with the terms of the underlying debt and any payment arrangement in place.
  • A payment arrangement is not varied or cancelled unless confirmed by us in writing.
  • Dishonoured direct debits or declined card payments may attract a fee only where the underlying credit contract or client agreement permits it.

If you believe a payment has been taken in error or without your authority, contact us immediately on 1300 369 529 or at accounts@collectionscorp.com.au.

Refunds

Overpayments, duplicate payments and payments made in error are refunded to the original payment source. Our full Refunds Policy sets out what is refundable, how to request a refund and the timeframes that apply.

Because CollectionsCorp supplies services only and does not sell physical goods, no dispatch or delivery terms apply to anything purchased or paid through this website.

Your obligations

If you have an account being managed by us, you agree to:

  • provide accurate and current contact, identification and financial information;
  • tell us promptly if your circumstances, contact details or ability to pay change;
  • raise any dispute about the debt with us in writing, with supporting information, so it can be investigated; and
  • not use our contact channels to harass or abuse our staff. We reserve the right to terminate abusive contact while continuing to deal with you in writing.

Hardship and financial difficulty

If you are experiencing financial hardship, tell us. We will assess your circumstances and, where appropriate, put a reduced or paused arrangement in place. We handle hardship consistently with the ACCC/ASIC Debt collection guideline: for collectors and creditors and applicable industry codes.

Free, independent and confidential financial counselling is available through the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007. If you are in crisis, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Privacy and data handling

We collect, use, store and disclose personal and credit-related information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and, where relevant, Part IIIA of the Privacy Act and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code.

Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy, including how to access or correct your information and how to make a privacy complaint.

Complaints and dispute resolution

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service or with the way an account has been handled, please raise it with us first. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and to resolve them within 30 days.

If we cannot resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may escalate it to the relevant external body, which may include the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (where the original creditor is a member), the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for privacy matters, ASIC, the ACCC, or your state or territory fair trading office.

Intellectual property

You may view and print pages for your own personal or internal business use. Any other reproduction, adaptation or commercial use requires our prior written consent.

Liability and disclaimers

Information on this website is provided for general information only. It is not legal, financial or credit advice and should not be relied on as such. You should obtain your own independent advice before acting on it.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having the services resupplied.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on website content, from interruptions to the website, or from third-party links accessed from this site.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, our systems or the law. The current version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated. Continued use of the website or our services after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and CollectionsCorp submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the courts competent to hear appeals from them.
